Is This Thing On…?

Oof, it has been a while, hasn’t it? I know, I know, “Stanford!? Where the hell have you been for 9 months!?” Busy. That’s where.

Busy doing what? Awesome things, of course! If you’re not aware, we had a wildly successful Kickstarter for those code::2050 dice. Also, we’re still recuperating from Save Against Fear, a convention that we sponsored. Furthermore, we’re hard at work on all of our exciting future products. Okay, that’s a lot to digest, so let’s go one at a time.

Upstart Dice Kickstarter

Back in August, we launched a Kickstarter campaign for our very first line of dice. They used our custom code::2050 font, and we were pretty confident that they’d sell well. Holy shit we were right. $27k later, we destroyed our campaign asking amount and rocketed onto the dice-company stage. In fact, we’re currently in the process of shipping the US and World customers while our UK and EU ones are getting theirs right now. It’s really quite awesome. I mean, check out these badass dice:

Interestingly, one of the biggest comments we got about these dice almost right away was “hey, are you gonna make just d6s? Or can I get some extra d6s? Really, just give me more d6s, dammit!” Well, no, we couldn’t do that, because we had a mold made for the sets of 7 polyhedrals. However, being the people-pleasers that we are, we are ready to fix that with an expansion line of these dice. I’m going to post an article more specifically about them, but here’s a quick picture of them.

Yeah, Shadowrun-specific color scheming. It’s going to be an awesome campaign. You can sign up to be alerted about it here: https://goo.gl/forms/KTAvVQK1BpEir8yb2

Save Against Fear

So, we went to Save Against Fear as the main sponsor of the show, and we had a tremendously good time. This was a convention held in Harrisburg where we sold some dice (actually, we sold quite a bit of dice), and our own Amy Dzura ran the D&D Adventurer’s League at the con. The attendance at the con nearly doubled from last year, and we’re hoping to keep up the trend for at least another year or two. The SAF team is run by some awesome people (The Bodhanna Group), and we’re really thrilled to be working with them. Next year, SAF will be better than ever!

Oh yeah, Chief came up with that awesome 80s themed advertisement.

Future of the Pants

So what’s next? As we look to 2019, we have a lot of awesome products coming out, including several new lines of dice and a couple game supplement books. We’re going to stick with the Kickstarter model for those products as well for the year, but we’re hoping that by 2020, we’ll be ready to launch products independently without using a crowdsourcing platform. That gives us better return, and therefore more flexibility on how we deliver.

Awesome awesome awesome things are coming. We’re just getting started!
